Literally Soaking Up the Sun
Okay, that's probably the cheesiest entry title I've had yet, but that Sheryl Crow song has been on my mind lately...I think because I've been doing more running outside lately. I took a (estimated) five-mile run yesterday along the Charles River and was actually keeping a pretty good pace.
Those of us at Emerson have about three weeks left in the semester before final exams. I'm still waiting to hear about a summer internship with The Jewish Advocate, but when we chatted last one of the editors sounded optimistic that I'd get it. We shall see. If I don't get it, I signed up for a class on foreign reporting and would continue to some freelancing and apply to write at other newspapers and magazines. I might even work parttime at some joint that could use my skills at making pesto mayonnaise.
I've been feeling the excitement about baseball season, as the Red Sox are having their home opener tomorrow night against...drum roll...the New York Yankees. I hope to get to watch at least a little bit of that. The Red Sox will be getting their championship rings tomorrow night too.
I want to take a moment to send my best wishes for a speedy recovery to my uncle Andy, who's in the hospital getting radiation and chemotherapy after having a brain tumor removed a few days ago. Get well, Andy. I hope to see you soon.
My best to the rest of you for a great week! Hopefully I'll be updating a little more often. Peace.
