Off to Oregon

Hello, bloggers and blog viewers! It has been a while, has it not? I have succesfully completed my first year of graduate school at Emerson and have the grades to show for it. Now I'm taking a few weeks of vacation before starting my internship at The Jewish Advocate.

I'm currently in my hometown of Lexington, Virginia but am leaving today for Portland, Oregon. I'll visit my sister and her family this week, whom I haven't seen in about a year and a half. They live in the medium-sized town of Bend, Oregon. My grandma, from Cape Cod, Mass. will be joining my parents and me out there.

Everything finished pretty well at Emerson, though I got a B in a class I thought I put a fair amount of work in for. Other grades were fine, and I really feel like I learned loads about journalism this year.

Visiting Virginia has been great. The weather has been absolutely gorgeous, and Saturday I got to see a lot of friends and familiar faces from the past, at the annual Road and River Relay race, which I watched and took a few pictures of, and at a couple of bars downtown. I look forward to a bit more time here after the Oregon trip.

Carnegie and I went to see "Sin City" today. I recommend it, as well as reading the graphic novels it is based on. We then ate at Bang with Carnegie's apartment-mate Isobel and a couple of friends whom I went to the University of Virginia with.

I'll check back for comments and will certainly be looking to post on the events of this trip sometime soon.

Have a good one. Cheers!
