Happy Voting
Welcome back from a reasonably long break from reading my comments. I want to wish everybody luck in getting his or her candidates elected tomorrow. I'm not voting this year, actually. I'm registered in Virginia, and I really should have done an absentee ballot because this year's race for governor is supposed to be the tightest in years. I don't know much about the candidates, except that Lt. Gov. Timothy M. Kaine is a Democrat trying to succeed a Democrat, current Gov. Mark Warner. He's running against Republican Jerry Kilgore, who has served as the attorney general for the state.
In the meantime, I don't know who I'd vote for in the mayoral election if I were voting in Boston -- the incumbent mayor, Tom Menino, or City Councilor Maura Hennigan. I think I'd lean towards Hennigan, but I'd want to watch the debates more. It'd be interesting if one of my classes had assigned me to cover one or more elections, as I did last year.
If I don't remember, remind me next year to plan ahead to vote, wherever I am, because there are elections every year.
Next time I'll talk about something less political -- perhaps basketball or soccer? We'll see.
